In recent years, many organisations have developed their strategy to accommodate external change factors such as Brexit.
But few of us could have envisaged Covid-19 and its global impact, the tragic loss of lives, and unprecedented change to our everyday lives across the globe.
I co-hosted a Drummond Bridge event with Jacqui Paterson, to discuss how Procurement teams are adapting with cross-industry Procurement leaders.
Procurement has a critical role in the success of a business, leveraging supplier partnerships, accessing innovation, diverse services and products, and ensuring ethical sustainable supply chains.
We actively manage suppliers and build relationships which deliver target outcomes and drive value. Through adaptive sourcing approaches and negotiation skills, we can deliver cost reduction or avoidance savings that benefit an organisation’s P & L.
It can be difficult sometimes to see what else you can do to continue to demonstrate value or continuously improve, or worse if change fatigue leaves us questioning if there’s any more benefits or cost savings to be squeezed.
However, if we work together with colleagues to explore opportunities, we can focus on the best blend of prioritised activity and optimise our collective resources. In this way, we can bring people with us and have shared ownership of change activities and outcomes.
